Yes. The available tools are free to use, with no registration, payment card or subscription required.
Are my PDFs uploaded online?
No. Documents are opened and processed on your device. CartaPDF does not receive your PDFs, signatures, images or drafts. Aggregate visit statistics do not include document content and can be turned off on the Cookies and local data page.
Can I edit text that is already in a PDF?
You can add text and cover an area to place a visual replacement. Text does not reflow automatically as it does in a Word document. Covered content may remain in the file, so this feature must not be used to redact confidential information. Text recognition for scanned pages is not included.
Can I sign PDFs and fill forms?
You can fill existing PDF fields, create new ones and insert a graphic signature, either drawn or imported as an image. A graphic signature is not a qualified digital signature or a certificate-based signature.
Does it work without an internet connection?
After opening the workspace online and allowing its resources to finish downloading, you can use cached features offline. Availability depends on the resources retained by your browser; open the app and check access before working without a connection.
How do I save my work or move it to another device?
Download PDF saves the document to your device. Export project creates a CartaPDF copy you can import into another browser. Local drafts do not sync and may be lost when browser data is cleared, so do not use them as the only copy of important documents.
